SATURDAY, JULY 23, 2016 – Competitors from the New England Lumberjack Association (NELA) are coming to the Moscow Bicentennial for an exciting demonstration of lumberjack sports. The four athletes visiting Moscow include two World Record holders hailing from Maine and the Island of Martha’s Vineyard. They will be demonstrating their skills in speed chopping, hand sawing, axe throwing and hot sawing. At four o’clock, the local competition will begin. Locals can register to compete in the axe throw and wood splitting events the day of the show. Registration will be $5. The winner of each event receives all of the registration fees as a prize. Local competitors are encouraged to bring their own double bit throwing axe and splitting maul/axe.
